Starfield Leaked Screenshot Confirms Real-World Banking Similarities
The original story is as follows:
As the release date for Starfield is nearing, the number of leaks and rumors has skyrocketed. The review codes for the game that were sent out earlier this week have just added fuel to the fire. All types of unofficial information about the game have been surfacing on forums like Reddit and ResetEra.
So far, from the title screen of the game, datamined space powers that the player will possess (no surprise) in space, and the music track list have been leaked. If you’re daring enough, you can check out all of that here.
The most recent leak gives fans a glimpse of what Bethesda is known for and does best—nailing the RPG elements in their games and making them as close to reality as possible. A Twitter user (X?) who received the review code for Starfield and has claimed to have played around 8 hours of the game leaked a screenshot (Spoiler) revealing that the game will follow real-life banking rules.
The screenshot shows that your in-game house will be confiscated by the bank authorities if you do not pay your mortgage on time. The screenshot was later posted on Reddit as well.
Recently, in a Discord Q&A, Bethesda revealed that Starfield will have its own jail system, and players can get into serious trouble for committing crimes in Starfield. While Bethesda kept the specifics of this Jail and Crime system under wraps, they did drop a hint that it will be more like Skyrim than Fallout 4.
The Settled Systems are more like Skyrim than Fallout 4’s Commonwealth in that regard. Yeah, bunch of criminals!
There’s civilization, there’s government, and there are laws. And in a couple of cases, we actually explore the themes of crime and punishment in our futuristic universe.”
All these leaks and rumors are just pumping up the overall Starfield hype among fans, and playtesters are also not holding back in the hype trains. Playtesters are praising the game, and one even claimed that there is not a single bug in the first 15 hours of the game.
This is a big deal for Starfield, as Bethesda has been criticized for releasing unpolished games and leaving it to the modding communities to optimize, but it looks like Starfield has been polished just fine.
As we wait for the official previews and reviews of Starfield, expected to drop on August 31st, 2023, it would be safe to assume (considering all these early reviews and leaks) that Bethesda will satisfy the expectations of fans with its first original RPG in 25 years.
If you want to have a clean experience, we would advise you to stay away from social media as much as possible to avoid these Starfield spoilers. Alternatively, you can also block Starfield-related keywords on your favorite social platforms if they allow it.
Starfield will be released on September 6th, 2023, for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox Game Pass. What are your thoughts about this news? Are you excited about Starfield? Let us know in the comments section below.
