Xiaomi 14 Series Could Come With Up to 24GB of RAM Coupled with the Powerful Snapdragon Gen 3
Xiaomi is reportedly planning to launch its Xiaomi 14 series in China this November. This series is expected to include the Xiaomi 14 Lite, Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro, the latter two rumored to be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.
These will be among the very first few phones to come with this exact SoC. The Gen 3 actually has a unique core configuration with one Cortex-X4 prime core, three Cortex-A720 performance cores, two Cortex-A720 efficiency cores, and two Cortex-A520 efficiency cores.
It is manufactured on TSMC’s N4P process and scores 2,231 points in the Geekbench 6.1 single-core benchmark and 6,661 in multi core. This is roughly a ~10% and ~20% performance uplift over the 8 Gen 2, respectively. However, it still falls flat against the Apple A16 Bionic. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 also features an Adreno 750 GPU that is said to be 50% faster than the Adreno 740.
In addition to this powerful processor, the Xiaomi 14 series is also rumored to come with a significant amount of RAM.
Leaker Digital Chat Station has hinted that the Xiaomi 14 series could pack up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM. This would be a significant increase from the 12GB of RAM that is currently available on the Xiaomi 13 Pro.
I’m not sure who would actually need 24GB of RAM on a commercial smartphone targeting the masses. But, it is actually possible that Xiaomi is targeting hardcore gamers and power users with this option. 24GB of RAM would allow users to run multiple demanding apps at the same time without experiencing any lag, but the same could also be done with nearly half the size too.
It is also worth noting that the spec sheet for the Xiaomi 14 series looks a lot like the spec sheet for the upcoming OnePlus Ace 2 Pro. It is possible that Digital Chat Station was actually referring to the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro when he mentioned the 24GB of RAM. He also mentioned that the phone could come with a 1TB UFS 4.0 storage option.
We will have to wait until Xiaomi officially announces the Xiaomi 14 series to know for sure what kind of specs it’ll come with. This is all we know for now, but rest assured that we will keep you updated as new information becomes available.
