This guide has listed all the possible solutions to fix this issue, so read until the end to be able to solve it.
Additional reports highlight a variety of circumstances leading up to this freeze, including completing a mission and attempting to load back into the ship, only for the game to crash or remain stuck on the loading screen
1. Toggle your Internet
Disconnecting and then reconnecting to the internet can potentially fix your issue, as it will try to re-establish the connection with your server and possibly fix the issue. If you are using an Ethernet cable, then just unplug it and plug it back again, and if you are using Wi-Fi connectivity, then turn it off and on to see if the loading screen has been completed. You should do it without leaving the game.
PC:
- Click on the Wi-Fi icon on the bottom right corner of your Windows.
- Click on Wi-Fi button to turn it off or on.
PlayStation 5:
- On the top-right side, select the gear icon to open settings.
- Choose the Network button to open network settings.
- Go to the Settings tab and toggle the Connect to the internet option.
2. Verify Game Files Integrity
The issue can also be caused if your game files are missing or corrupted. To fix this, you can verify the game files that you have installed, and it will detect if something is missing and automatically download it for you.
This solution is exclusive to PCs; unlike PCs, the PlayStation 5 does not have the option to verify game files. On the PlayStation 5, you might have to wait for an update or reinstall the game.
- Open Steam Library and locate your game.
- Right-click on the game and click on the Properties button.
- Now head to the Installed Files tab and click on Verify integrity of game files button.
3. Turn off your Firewall
Your firewall can also cause the game to get stuck, as it might block connections to the server, ultimately making you stay on the cinematic loading screen. Turning it off can help you fix the connection issue between you and the game server.
- Click on the Windows Icon on the bottom left and type “Allow an app through Windows Firewall” and press Enter.
- Click on Change settings button then click on the Allow another app… button.
- Now click on Network types… button and check both Private and Public options and click on OK.
- Once done then click on the Browse… button and add your game.
